CAROL, (58), has been suffering from the painful condition termed 'Frozen Shoulder' and is a regular visitor to the clinic and responds quickly to Bowen Therapy. After just 3 treatment sessions, Carol's condition has improved significantly, although still returns for 'refresher' treatments.
LINDA, (50) had been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia for 15 years.
During this time she had tried just about every treatment and every complementary therapy going, but nothing had helped.
Most days the pains were so bad that it was necessary to take painkillers every 4 hours.
I commenced the treatment with Linda laying face down on the couch, made a few gentle Bowen moves along her spine, when she began to cry floods of tears.. After a while she was OK, so i finished the treatment for that particular session.
When she sat up I noticed that the whole of the right side of her face was flushed and bright red. It remained like this for 10 minutes, then suddenly went back to its normal colour.
Linda said that she had a feeling that her body had somehow changed.
One week later Linda came back to see me and I was just amazed at the difference from the week before. She had kept a diary of how she had been feeling each day, and it showed her to have been feeling very positive, had taken very few painkillers as the pains were now less frequent, and was no longer disturbing her sleep.
Six weeks later I phoned Linda to see how she was doing and was pleased to hear that she was free of pain and had strong positive emotions, and realised that this had been a turning point in her life...
JENNY slipped and fell whilst walking her 2 Siberian Huskies, injuring her right ankle.
The pain was so bad that doctors at the local hospital thought that Jenny must have broken a bone. However, no fractures were found on the X-ray, so Jenny was bandaged up and sent home, and placed on the list for emergency physiotherapy.
Ten months later, she was still waiting...
The Bowen ankle procedure was used, which has on occasion been seen to be little short of miraculous when addressing the pain of a sprained or twisted ankle.
Jenny's story was covered by a local paper.
SUE (61) is willing to speak about her treatment for M.E. After about 4 treatments, Sue began to make dramatic improvement.
She has just started to play Bowls again and I showed her a few Bowen moves to use on Max, her 14 year old Labrador Dog... He stands still for it, then runs off barking his head off!!!
SARAH travels to see me from her home in Essex, a round trip of over 145 miles.
Sarah has been plagued with digestive problems since childhood.
Now in her 30's, she has had a dramatic improvement in her health in the few treatment sessions since November 2007. (She was able to eat a jacket potato right after the first treatment).
ANITA, (36) came to me following a referral from her father, JOHN, (65) who I had treated previously for back, shoulder and lower arm problems.
Anita suffered from excruciating lower back pain, including sciatica, for over 20 years, and was having to take sick leave from work on many occasions, due to the pain.
The problems deteriorated when she fell off her bike and was left permanently bent over like a woman of 80+ years.
She was on strong painkillers, had several visits to an osteopath, received massages, was referred by her GP for physiotherapy and also traction.
She underwent a course of ultrasound treatment and electro-stimulation pain relief, similar to TENS. She also visited a Chinese therapist, but no-one could alleviate her suffering.
After the first treatment Anita could stand tall with very little discomfort, something she hadn't been able to do for many, many years, and felt extremely relaxed and virtually pain-free.
She attended again the following week and continues to be pain-free now, and that's some 18 months later.
Anita still attends my clinic to receive treatment for IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome), kidney infections, frozen shoulder, stress related tension and general body balancing and relaxation.
I’m currently treating Anita for a sleep disorder - she's been waking 4-5 times during the night for no apparent reason and therefore feels lethargic and has been prone to depression too, another ailment that Bowen seems to lessen.
TOBY, (41), a cricket and keep-fit fanatic, was referred to me to help sort out a re-occurring, 12 year neck injury.
Chiropractic treatment for 3 weeks had failed to relieve the symptoms of localised neck pain, with pins and needles down the right arm, into the tips of the fingers.
The day after treatment, Toby was back jogging and going to the gym.
I have since, over the past 4 years, treated him for knee and back injuries.
